~~ Abiding in Christ ~~
What does it mean to abide?
John 15:1-10
What does it mean for us to abide in Jesus as branches
in the vine? I believe three things are implied:
connection, dependence, and continuance.
1. Connection
Abiding in Jesus first of all means having a life-giving
connection to him. A branch is connected to the vine,
and a vine to the branch. This is what theologians
frequently describe as “union with Christ.” Notice that
this connection, this union, is mutual. We abide in him
and he abides in us (v. 4). If there is no connection,
there is no life, no fruit.
2. Dependence
But abiding also implies dependence. This aspect of
abiding, unlike connection, is not reciprocal. The branch
is dependent on the vine, but the vine is not dependent
on the branch. The branch derives its life and power
from the vine. Without the vine, the branch is useless,
lifeless, powerless. Sap flows from the vine to the
branch, supplying it with water, minerals, and nutrients
that make it grow. And believers receive the “sap” of
Christ’s grace through our life-giving connection to him.
We are completely dependent upon Jesus for everything
that counts as spiritual fruit (v. 4). Apart from him, we
can do nothing (v. 5).
3. Continuance
Abiding also involves continuance. In fact,
“abide” (Greek, meno) means to remain, or stay, or
continue. For example, inJohn 1:38-39, two of the
disciples who first encountered Jesus asked him “Where
are you staying?” They wanted to know where Jesus
made his residence. The word “staying” is the same
word translated “abide” in John 15. To abide is to reside.
To abide is to continue, to stay, to remain.
This shows us that another aspect of abiding in Jesus is
remaining in Jesus. This simply means that we go on
trusting, that we keep on depending, that we never stop
believing. To abide in Jesus is to persevere in Jesus and
his teaching. This is what Jesus is talking about in John
8:31-32, when he says, “If you abide in my word, you are
truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the
truth will set you free.”
In summary, to abide in the vine means to be united to
Jesus (connection), to rely on Jesus (dependence), and
to remain in Jesus (continuance).
If you believe in Jesus, you are in him. You are united to
him. You are connected to the life-giving branch. But no
matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you can
experience the reality of this connection to Jesus more
and more.
Who is this for?
You can become more fruitful. There are degrees of
fruitfulness. The passage not only speaks of bearing
fruit, but of bearing “more fruit” (v. 2) and “much
fruit” (v. 8).
How do you abide?
We abide in Jesus by letting his words abide in us (v. 7)
and by abiding in his love (v. 9-10).

Why aren't my prayers answered?
Are all prayers answered? Scripture teaches that God does answer our prayers (John 16:24) but Scripture also says that there are some conditions for effective prayer. What are some reasons the Bible gives for God not answering our prayers?
- 1. We don't really believe, God can answer them.Jesus said:“If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” (Matthew 21:22)James wrote:“But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does” (James 1:6-8).Believing is perhaps the best known condition for prayer. But there are other reasons prayer is not answered.
- We ask with wrong motives.“When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures” (James 4:3).
- Unconfessed sin separates us from God, so that He will not hear.“Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities (sins) have separated you from God; your sins have hidden his face from you so that He will not hear” (Isaiah 59:1-2).
- We set up idols in our hearts that come between us and God.“Son of man, these men have set up idols in their hearts and put wicked stumbling blocks before their faces. Should I let them inquire of me at all?” (Ezekiel 14:3).
- We don't answer those who cry to us for help.“If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered” (Proverbs 21:13).
- We don't remain in God/God's Word doesn't remain in us.“If you remain in me and my word remains in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be given to you” (John 15:7).

~~DOUBLE FOR OUR TROUBLE~~
Our Heavenly Father tests us for several reasons:
1. To humble us
2. To teach us
3. To know what’s in our hearts
4. To see if we will keep His Word or not. (Deut 8:2)
5. And He compensates our perseverance during these tests—our determined persistence in pressing through them with His Word—with DOUBLE FOR OUR TROUBLE!
Because you got a double dose of trouble and more than your share of contempt, your inheritance in the land will be DOUBLED and your joy go on forever. (Isaiah 61:7)
Be blessed and sealed in the name of JESUS.... Amen!!!!

Is any thing too hard for the LORD?
Is any thing too hard for the LORD? Genesis 18:14
This is the question asked to Abraham when Sarah laughed about the conceiving of a baby at very old age.(They have no hope that they will bear a child at that age)
Now, God is asking the same Question to us....
Many of us face Tremendous Problems:
1. Domestic problems,
2. Physical problems,
3. Spiritual problems,
4. Financial problems,
5. Church problems,
6. Friendship problems
But......
There Is No Promise Too Hard For God To Fulfill.
There Is No Prayer Too Hard For God To Answer.
There Is No Problem Too Hard For God To Solve.
There Is No Church Too Hard For God To Revive.
Let's check few verses in the Bible...
Job 42:1-2
Then Job answered the LORD, and said, I know that thou canst do every thing....
Jeremiah 32:17
Ah Lord God! ... there is nothing too hard for thee.
Jeremiah 32:27
Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for the Lord?;
Matthew 19:26, Mark 10:27
With God all things are possible.
Luke 1:37
For with God nothing shall be impossible.
Luke 18:27
The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
Revelation 19:6
The Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
The only thing that God cannot do is act contrary to His own character and nature. For example, Titus 1:2 and Hebrews 6:18 states that"He cannot lie". Because He is holy (Isaiah 6:3; 1 Peter 1:16), He cannot sin. Because He is just, He cannot merely overlook sin. Because Christ paid the penalty for sin, He is now able to forgive those who will turn to Christ
Truly our God is an awesome God...unchanging, eternal, unlimited in power, in majesty, in knowledge, in wisdom, in love, in mercy, and in holiness.
So, my dear friends.. Never fear for anything you face in your lives. We have a Big God to look after all our problems. They are very small and minute infront of Him.
Cheer Up!!!!

How can I know God's will for my life?
There are two keys to knowing God's will for a given situation: 1) Make sure what you are asking for or considering doing is not something the Bible forbids. 2) Make sure what you are asking for or considering doing will glorify God and help you grow spiritually. If these two things are true and God still is not giving you what you are asking, then it is likely not God’s will for you to have what you are asking for. Or, perhaps you just need to wait a while longer for it. Knowing God’s will is sometimes difficult. People want God to tell them specifically what to do—where to work, where to live, whom to marry, etc. God rarely gives people information that direct and specific (through word of God, Visions and dreams). God allows us to make choices regarding those things.
Romans 12:2 tells us, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.” The only decision God does not want us to make is the decision to sin or resist His will. God wants us to make choices that are in agreement with His will. So, how do you know what God’s will is for you? If you are walking closely with the Lord and truly desiring His will for your life, God will place His desires on your heart. The key is wanting God’s will, not your own. “Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4). If the Bible does not speak against it and it can genuinely benefit you spiritually, then the Bible gives you the “permission” to make decisions and to follow your heart. If you truly seek God’s will with a humble spirit and an open mind, He will reveal His will to you.
"God's will is the best, perfect and complete". Let's depend only God's will and receive blessings from God rather than facing consequences.
